Our story
Carolina Charm is a mother-daughter run retail garden shop and micro flower farm. We sell high quality birdhouses & bird feeders, plants, cut flowers and variety of unique items for your home and garden.
Our store is actually the home that my great-great-grandfather built for his family in 1892. He had eleven children and was a farmer as well as a crew member at the U.S. Lifesaving Service Station in Kitty Hawk. The land and home stayed in the family all these years, and in 2004 my aunt & uncle opened Carolina Charm as a small garden center & landscaping business. By 2018 they were ready to retire, my mother & I took over. We dropped the landscaping services and added cut flowers to the business. We are now entering our 6th year of flower farming & continue to grow this side of the business each year.

Plants
Our spring & summer plant selection includes flowering annuals and tropicals, foliage tropicals that also make great houseplants, perennials, shrubs and succulents, air plants & cacti.
Specializing in lavender, we sell both English and French lavender plants. We love herbs and will often have a selection of common + unique herbs for sale.
Cut Flowers
We use organic farming practices, and everything is planted, harvested and weeded by hand. Flower farming is hard work, but it’s a labor of love. Our fresh cut flowers are available for purchase online or in store from April - October. We also sell vases & small gifts in the flower room. Dried flowers and dried lavender are available all year. In November & December we have locally grown & foraged holiday arrangements, wreaths & potted bulbs.
Garden Art
Walk through the yard & you’ll find adorable ceramic mushrooms, kinetic wind spinners, bird baths, concrete figurines, pots & planters + other unique yard art. Inside the shop we have quality wind chimes, rain chains, metal artwork, locally made gifts, candles & replicas of our local Outer Banks lighthouses.
Birdhouses
Known for our beautiful copper roof birdhouses and feeders that are made in North Carolina (and available for shipping nationwide). We carry birdhouses specifically for Purple Martins and Bluebirds, as well as houses & feeders that will satisfy a variety of birds.
